The connected vehicle technology company recognizes fleet managers and drivers using safety scores to boost safety and performance

Azuga, the leading global provider of connected vehicle and fleet technologies, today announced the Q2 2017 recipients of the Azuga Fleet Safe Driving Awards. The awards program, which was launched in 2015, is designed to motivate and incentivize both fleet managers and fleet drivers who make safe driving a key part of their operations and culture through the use of Azuga’s fleet tracking and driver safety scoring solution. Recipients were identified from a pool of more than 50,000 drivers and 5,000 fleet managers, and will receive cash, certificates and recognition in industry press and social media.

“These quarterly awards help our customers and others in the industry understand the important role that fleet tracking can play in addressing important areas of safety, risk management and overall performance,” said Ananth Rani, co-founder and CEO of Azuga. “We celebrate performance by both fleet managers as well as individual drivers, since both roles are crucial to fleet safety.”

Azuga is proud to announce the following top drivers and fleet managers from the second quarter of 2017:
Fleet Managers:
  •     Eric Meitzler, Walker-Hill Environmental
  •     Alan Basch, A TECH SERVICE
  •     Anton Dagner, Ambassador Limousine
  •     Brian Fickel, Galaxy 1 Marketing

The Azuga Fleet Safe Driving Award program winners are determined by analyzing all drivers’ safety events (speeding, hard braking, rapid acceleration, idling) using a proprietary algorithm developed by Azuga’s data science team. Each individual safety component factors in the magnitude, duration, frequency and spatio-temporal index to determine the conditions under which the events occurred. Driver scores are visible to fleet managers and workers alike, and are an important tool for recognizing good driving behaviors and identifying areas where coaching is needed.
